WealthCamp Cost

WealthCamp is only $75 for participants! Your $75 fee gains you lunch at the conference, as well as a free tote bag, a workbook to help you with budgeting and financial planning, and a list of resources where you can obtain more information about financial matters. This low cost is made possible by our WealthCampSponsors.

Why charge at all?

One of the questions I received when I first started talking about WealthCamp was why to charge a fee at all for attending. My stated goal is to get financial planning information out into the world and have that information be accessible to all. So why not a free conference?

I borrowed heavily from the BarCamp model in creating WealthCamp. One of the inherent problems with BarCamps is "no-shows" -- people who sign up, but do not attend. Since most venues have a limited number of seats, those who sign up and do not attend create a burden -- food and tote bags have been ordered, and seats have been reserved, but the attendees do not show up. Those who might have been interested but who found out after the sell-out date now cannot participate, either.

This is why the BarCamp website recommends charging a nominal fee. A $75 registration fee allows us to make certain we have an audience both interested in and motivated to change their financial situation, as well as to recoup a significant portion of the event cost. In the future, depending on feedback from our first participants, we may change the fee.
